First Day of pre-K

Today was Avery's first day of Pre-K. She will be attending Lake Country Preschool in Lake Stevens near our new home. http://www.lakecountrybaptist.com/LCPre%20School/index.html

Avery woke up very tired and cranky. Everything we did it was difficult, choosing a cereal to eat, getting dressed, brushing hair, and even getting a photo. I promised her that I would get a smile today....

Grumpy girl

At school, sorta a smile.

NOW, that is the SMILE!!!
We love you, Avery and hope you have a GREAT year!!
She had a great day and is looking forward to tomorrow.

Labor Day BBQ and slumber party!

Krissy and Danielle came down to spend some time with us during the long weekend. Krissy had a few Advocare events throughout the weekend that needed our assistance with Danielle and then they joined our family for a BBQ at Lavender Hills Farm. The girls enjoyed playing inside and outside on the big toy and jumping on the trampoline despite the rainy weather. We had a great time like we always do on the farm!!
Natale got a kick throwing the ball for Dutch.
1...2...3....throw!! then lots of giggles too!!

WE GOT WOOD!!

Last Thursday, the girls and I drove by our home site to see if anything "new" had happened and guess what we found.....WOOD! And the garage floor slab had been poured that morning.

So last night, 8/31, we stopped by to see what they had started. Yesterday was our house's "first building" day only 53 more to go!!
The garage walls and the floors on the first floor are done.
The girls dancing in the living room...
And then in front of the back door.
They danced all over the first floor. More photos to come.....
We should be looking like a house by next Friday.

Boating on Lake Stevens!

We were invited to join our friends Jen, Jason and Jacinda, for a boat ride on Lake Stevens. We packed up some lunch, a few snacks and beverages and headed up to the boat launch. We cruised around the lake and took a few breaks to jump in the water. The weather, the company and the lake were fantastic and we had a great time.
Natale fussed a bit having to wear a life vest, but we kept her distracted with chips
Avery climbing out of the water. She had so much fun in the lake!
Swimming!
Taking a ride on Jason's shoulders...they would zoom through the water
Mama got in with both her girls...so refreshing!
We spent a few hours on the water and then headed home for naps. Thanks again to Jen and Jason for the invite...we had SO much fun and Avery can't wait to go again!

FOUNDATION COMPLETE!!!

Last Tuesday night, we drove by our home site and found out that our foundation walls were poured that afternoon. Papa did some inspecting and we made our mark on the foundation. This is our address....Yeah

from the street....
making our mark!!!
and close up...

The girls and I drove by our home site on yesterday and found this....some under the house plumbing, laying yard drains and filling in the dirt.

We drove out to the house this evening and these are some of the pictures we took. We are thinking that our garage slab gets poured either tomorrow or Thursday. And lumber should be delivered Thursday or Friday.
Papa taking his turn climbing on the foundation....
The girls playing in our back yard!!

This photo was taken from the back yard, that lump of dirt will be the back door steps.

Natale standing at the top of the foundation. She had fun tonight
This is what we left on the foundation!! It looks better in person and is going to be covered up within the next week.
We have our first walk through meeting with the Superintendent this Friday morning the 28th, so we will have more to share very soon....

Footings

Here is the proof that we are getting started....dirt movement

taken 8/10/09

On Wednesday night, we drove by our site and this is what we found....yeah!

these pics were taken Thursday am
It had rained hard on Wednesday night so when I drove by to see the progress of the foundation pour and it hadn't started yet....
And then I drove back later in the afternoon to see if they were able to get the footings done....
So here are the footings (1st of 2 foundation pours)
It will take about 7 days for the footings to cure and then they will pour the walls of the foundation. (2nd foundation pour)

More to come....
Note: Joe got the call from the Superintendent on Wednesday afternoon to inform us about the pour that would be taking place on Thursday. During their discussion, Joe informed the guy of his background and that we were interested in making a few concert samples as a keepsake(because he is a geek...he told him that). Unfortunately, He told Joe that we wouldn't be able to take field cures because it could be a liability....such a bummer!
