Meeting our NEW BABY COUSIN!!!

Grandma Gail picked the girls up and headed to Auntie's to meet the newest family member. Big sister Danielle, had given us a "head ups" that her new sister was "very crabby"
The girls really nervous at first, but each took a turn. Avery got barfed on, by little Miss Izzy, and took it like a trooper, no crying just big wide eyes and a bath. I told her that "Babies only puke on the ones they LOVE" :)

We are settling in nicely and we just LOVE our new home!!

HOUSE UPDATE!!

OK, lots to share.....
First off, As of Thursday 10/8/09 we are half way done. We are at Day 29 of 54 on Monday. So here is what's been going on at the house these last 7-10 work days.

Digging up electrical line and getting the meter attached to the house.

We have wall board (drywall). These first pictures were taken last Friday 10/2/09.

And then on Wednesday evening the heat was on and the mudding and taping had been completed

Next week we should be getting our cabinets delivered and they start to texture the walls and paint the inside of the house.

Furnace and more...

Thursday and Friday, they installed the furnace, started electrical, and wrapped the house to start the siding process...

This is the start of the fireplace....framing being done and the girls took full advantage...Avery playing "Mrs Claus" and Natale is hanging on and swinging from it like a monkey...silly girls!!

WE GOT WOOD!!

Last Thursday, the girls and I drove by our home site to see if anything "new" had happened and guess what we found.....WOOD! And the garage floor slab had been poured that morning.

So last night, 8/31, we stopped by to see what they had started. Yesterday was our house's "first building" day only 53 more to go!!

The garage walls and the floors on the first floor are done.

We should be looking like a house by next Friday.

Here is our floor plan. We are keeping the loft instead of a 4th bedroom. We can always put a wall in if we need the room. Its really nice coming upstairs to it all being open. As for the start date we are still waiting to hear, but we did drive by the lot last weekend and they were beginning to level and prep our site for the foundation pour. Pictures will follow soon after the pour.....

Update from this afternoon: Permits are here!! Next Wednesday/Thursday scheduled set-up for foundation pour and then foundation pour should be early the following week (no official date, but Joe wants to take field samples to save...he is such a geek...I heart him!!). We wait about 14 days for concrete to cure then the building begins....And so does the 54 day countdown to move-in....YEAH!!

This is our lot. Lot #85.

We have spent several hours at the Quadrant Home showroom choosing everything from carpet to vinyl, cabinets and countertops, light fixtures and appliances. We had our final selection appointment on July 8th. Next on the timeline is handing over 3% to get the permits to start building our home....WHOOOHOOO!! I can't believe it! We will keep you all informed on our home building process!!
