During our moving week, I left the camera in the car for most of the week. Sorry about that, there are not many FUN pictures to take with grumpy/focused faces, or seeing vehicles crammed full of boxes of our crap. Yes I probably should have captured the moment because we won't EVER be moving again, but oh well, I was busy either, packing, moving, unpacking, or tending to a sick child. Yes we had a flu/cold battle this week too.
We got most of the moving done by ourselves, but had some help with the big stuff. Thank you David, Aunt Natale, Uncle Dave, and Andrew for ALL your help moving the BIG stuff!! And thank you Wendi and Bernie for your help with ALL the boxes and taking the girls for us so we get things done. The girls LOVE spending time with their Gram and Gramps and Duey!

As for the clean-up. Joe and I ROCKED!! We spent several hours during the week of Thanksgiving over at the apartment scrubbing walls, blinds, floors, bathrooms and the fridge. We took a trip or two to the donation place and made sure all the garbage was at the curb for the scheduled pick-up. We had our walk-through with the land lord and She said we did a great job cleaning the place up. We will be charged for the light pink kool-aid stain in Avery's old room (Grant did his best to treat the stain) and for not cleaning the supposedly self-cleaning oven. Oh Well! We should be receiving most of our deposit back....YEAH!

We are settling in nicely and plan to decorate for Christmas this weekend. We are looking forward to showing our house off to our family and friends. We will keep you posted on the Housewarming!!

Last days of the building process include: painting the front door, blinds installed, window screens installed, door knobs (levers), paint touch-up, cleaning and landscaping.

We have a nice BIG front/side yard and a smaller/short back yard. But we can do LOTS with what we have. We are so excited....and so SURREAL knowing that we will be in our home in just a FEW days!!!

10 more WORK days....and 15 days till move-in!!

Every other week or so I get a spreadsheet that lists the progress of our house. We have been patiently watching the days countdown and we are almost at single digits, well shit I should just say it...............we are almost HOME OWNERS!! I wrote the very last rent check last month....<BIG SMILE> That right there is greatness!!

On Sunday we accepted an invitation by Quadrant to take a walk thru of our home. OOPSIE, should we tell them that we visit the house about 3 times a week? Oh well, so we grabbed the provided hardhats and headed to our house with a key and the camera in hand. We were excited because according to the spreadsheet the appliances should have been delivered on Friday, but Monday it would be.

So this is what is new in the house as of today, 11/3/09.

we have shelving in the pantry and in all the closets. Natale has already tried to demonstrate "how to climb" the pantry shelves...yikes!

The carpet was being installed tonight....we headed to the house around 5:15 pm. Apparently the carpet layers work past 5:30 pm. So we sneaked around and took a look and a picture. We were too excited not to get the chance to squish our toes in the new carpet. So after dinner and a bath, we drove back.

All that's left to do is paint, door handles, clean-up, front yard landscaping and a few miscellaneous tasks.

We have our orientation and final walk-thru scheduled for the 16th at 10 am, we sign the documents on Tuesday and then we take OWNERSHIP on WEDNESDAY the 18th!! ................(sigh) WOW!!

For a few weeks now, we (or I) have been wondering why our Master bathroom shower enclosure was not installed yet? Its been just green board for weeks and the other shower was installed so why the delay? Well, it must of broken in shipment or something??
Late last week, the shower enclosure arrived and was too wide for the door ways so here is what they did.....

As of today, we will be at DAY 38, which means 16 work days until our HOME is completed!!

HOUSE UPDATE!!

OK, lots to share.....
First off, As of Thursday 10/8/09 we are half way done. We are at Day 29 of 54 on Monday. So here is what's been going on at the house these last 7-10 work days.
