Campout 2007

Last Friday morning we drove up to the Masonic Park in Granite Falls for our Annual Family Campout. We joined several friends for a funfilled weekend of great company and lots of river fun. We arrived about 9:30 and we were followed by a thunder and rain storm. We tried to keep our things dry. By the afternoon, we started to see lots of blue sky and the sun was peaking out through the clouds. During the weekend we took walks, played with bubbles, played cards, took wagon rides, played in the dirt, played on the swing set, sat by the fire and drank. I being pregnant, did not drink but there were people who drank enough for me. Joe, Avery and I slept comfortable in our tent. The DeRemers arrived in the afternoon on Friday. Dani had a rough time getting to sleep that night. We also had a howler in the night needing some help.....Dad was ok. We all loved playing in the refreshing river. We even went back after dinner for a quick swim. We all had good laughs and great story telling by Mama Sue and anybody else who had a joke or fun tale to share. We had wonderful meals and treats cooked by all. Sunday morning breakfast is always best with Dan Cone's made to order omlettes. We packed up and said our goodbyes. We had a wonderful weekend and can't wait for next year!

Avery with a grumpy face...but she was a very good girl. She had so much fun! We had just come from the river and she was cold.

Avery and Danielle went on several wagon rides. The girls had soooo much fun together. Dani has just started to walk. In just a few months they we be chasing each other. They are such good friends. Lots more giggles to come!

This year Joes Grandparents, Joe and Joan, joined us for the weekend. They had lots of fun chatting around the fire and taking a walk to the river. Granny made some very delicious salads to share for the Saturday night dinner. They are looking forward to next year!

Mama helping Avery roast some marshmallows for a s'more.

Baby Jail.....the girls, Avery, Dani & Chelsea (8 month old) loved playing with the balls. It was nice to have them in baby jail so their mommies could eat, help with dinner, clean-up or just have a few minutes to themselves. The girls giggled and had fun with each other.

We were joined by many friends and many new faces and friends.
