On Saturday September 1st, we went to the Evergreen State Fair in Monroe. We went with Granny and Grandpa Joe, Aunt Natale and her friend Debbie and then we met up with Aunt Lynn, her boyfriend Bernardo and cousin Brianna. We started the day with a delicious scone...a must have at the fair!! We then traveled to one of the vendor barns because Granny decided to buy herself a motorized scooter, to help her get around better in their many travels. She broke it in nicely at the fair grounds. We then traveled to the animal barns. We saw rabbits, baby bunnies, guinea pigs, pigeons, ducks, swans, chickens, a roaster, piggies, goats, sheep, dairy cows, beef cows, 2 zebras, 2 of Santa's reindeer and finally the horses. We had a meal in the middle of all the barn visits. Papa made sure to have several looks at all the heavy equipment displayed outside each barn. We walked through a few more of the vendor barns and got Mama's and Granny's rings polished. Our finally exhibit was the horse barns. We even got to watch some the cowboys practice roping for their competition in the rodeo that is going on this weekend. There was lots of horse traffic and poop to look out for, but we saw some beautiful animals at the fair. We decided to leave the fair at about 3:30pm and got stamped for a return trip later in the evening, but we chose not to return. We were all exhausted!
Avery taking a ride with the Papa
These are just a few of the goats we saw....we watched that kid jump up and start eating the hay. Pygmy goats are SO much fun to watch.
Just a few of the cows we saw. There was lots of activity in the cow barns today. They were showing in the arena. Most of the cows were SO clean and some were even being hair sprayed...no joke!
This was one of the two Zebras that were exhibited.
Us arriving at the Fair!!
Papa telling Avery that someday he wants to own a backhoe.
A sow with her piglets.....4 males and 6 females
Did you know that a sow will grunt or snort to tell her piglets that it is time to eat....otherwise they would be on her tits all the time.
Avery looking SO cute with Papa's new cowboy hat on. We had lots of fun at the Fair this year....can't wait for next!!
